Senior industry executives bring wealth of sales and marketing experience to GFI


Three senior industry executives have joined GFI bringing with them a wealth of sales and marketing experience, the company announced today. The new vice-presidents will be instrumental in reshaping GFI’s marketing structures and introducing new global initiatives.

GFI’s CEO Walter Scott said: “Over the past few months we have carefully selected some of the best people in the business to help GFI to achieve its growth and revenue plans. Ed, Ellan and Sergio bring to the executive team years of experience, proven track records and the skills and know-how to help us expand our customer base, boost revenues and exceed our targets.”

The new Vice-Presidents are:

Sergio Galindo- Vice-President, Product Marketing. Sergio has over 20 years of global professional IT experience, 18 of them in the financial industry with the Bank of New York, Bankers Trust and most recently Lehman Brothers as Senior Vice President in the Information Technology Division.  At Lehman Brothers he was responsible for implementing global initiatives including standardization of the Windows Desktop and Server infrastructures, as well as Microsoft Exchange/email, BlackBerry and LehmanLive, the group’s web portal.  Sergio was also responsible for developing IT strategies, product development, global application deployment and production support for the Americas.

Ed Harnish - Vice-President, Marketing. Ed is a 25-year veteran of the high technology industry and he has a long track record of providing both customer and shareholder value. A pioneer of the concept of customer centric organizations - where everyone in an organization works toward a clear set of goals that empower its customer base to become more competitive - Ed has assisted dozens of companies to achieve their growth goals. Prior to joining GFI, he was VP of Marketing at Acronis Inc., contributing to the company’s growth from less than $20m in 2005 to $120m in 2008. He has held senior positions at Aptus Technologies, Switchboard and Banyan Systems. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Ed was honorably discharged in 1979.

Ellan Murphy - Vice-President, Operations. An action-oriented leader with over 20 years’ experience building dynamic sales teams, attracting and maintaining customers, and consistently exceeding targets. Ellan joins GFI after helping Acronis Inc. to increase its revenues more than six-fold in the three years she was with the company. Prior to that, she held various sales and finance roles at Imceda Software, Embarcadero Technologies, IBM and BMC Software.
