What's new in GFI FaxMaker™ 2013 SR2?

Available now, GFI FaxMaker 2013 SR2 offers the following new features and improvements: 

Support for multiple folders when using TextAPI or XMLAPI

GFI FaxMaker 2013 SR2 now allows you to configure multiple pick-up folders when using the TextAPI or XMLAPI. You can also configure GFI FaxMaker to automatically scan for faxes within sub-folders. This provides for better file management, especially when multiple systems are being integrated with GFI FaxMaker.

Ability to specify database name for fax archiving

When configuring your fax archive database (SQL Server or MS Access), you now have the ability to specify the database name in which you want to archive your faxes. Multiple fax servers can be configured to archive faxes in a single database or in separate databases. This new feature will also allow you to archive your faxes in one of your existing databases.

Improved routing capabilities when using online fax services

When using fax services you now have the ability to link your fax numbers to FaxMaker lines, thus extending your inbound and outbound routing capabilities.

Enhanced Log Files Management and rollover capabilities

GFI FaxMaker 2013 SR2 improves log file management by allowing for custom log file paths and adds the ability to rollover your send and receive logs to a new file daily, weekly, monthly or when they reach a specified file size.

Transmission reports enhancements

When sending faxes to multiple recipients you now have the option to receive a transmission report for every recipient or you can choose to receive one consolidated transmission report for all recipients.

Microsoft Office 2013 support

In GFI FaxMaker 2013 SR2 we have added support for Microsoft Office 2013.

Support for additional hardware

The following hardware is now natively supported by GFI FaxMaker: 

• US Robotics 56K USB Controller Fax Modem with Voice (Model: USR805637)
• US Robotics 56K V.92 Serial Controller Fax Modem (Model: USR015630G)

Updated drivers

GFI FaxMaker now supports the Dialogic SDK 6.6 drivers that enable the use of Brooktrout hardware on Microsoft Windows 2012.

Hybrid fax support

GFI FaxMaker 2013 now supports hybrid faxing via etherFAX and GFI Online Fax Service services. This gives you all the benefits of the security and feature-rich on-premise fax server, with the added benefits of cloud-based fax services. H faxing enables you to eliminate the need for phone lines or expensive fax boards. 

Support for Office 365™ and Gmail™ 

GFI FaxMaker 2013 now includes configuration options to enable email-to-fax and fax-to-email for customers in an Office 365 Exchange or Gmail environment. Companies can now take full advantage of their cloud-based email environment with all the security, privacy and rich feature set of an on-premise fax server. 

Fax integration with multifunction devices

Through the integration of Nuance eCopy ShareScan SDK, GFI FaxMaker 2013 now supports a selection of multifunction devices (MFDs) from Canon, HP, Konica Minolta, Ricoh and Xerox®. MFDs can now send faxes from the same system as users and applications, eliminating the need for multiple phone lines to many devices, and allowing central logging, archiving and retrieval of all faxes in one place. 

Enhanced email-to-SMS and SMS-to-email gateway

GFI FaxMaker 2013 supports multiple GSM devices and SMS providers concurrently, allowing for business-level volume text messaging. All SMS communications are logged centrally, giving full archive and audit access to aid compliance. 

Silent installation 

GFI FaxMaker 2013 supports silent installation of the fax server software, providing fast, easy, automated deployment. This is of particular benefit to companies deploying multiple fax servers for high availability, load balancing, disaster recovery and geographically distributed deployments.
