GFI LAUNCHES FAXMAKER FOR EXCHANGE 9:
The first zero administration fax server is now available!
London, UK, 16 January 2002 - GFI, developer of the market-leading
FAXmaker fax server range, has launched a new version of FAXmaker
for Exchange, 9. Version 9 is the first fax server to require zero
administration. It eliminates the need for an internal fax user database,
greatly reducing administration and saving time and money.
A dream-come-true
for administrators
FAXmaker for Exchange no longer requires an internal fax user database.
Instead, it relies on Active Directory and allows fax-related settings
to be applied to Windows users or groups directly.
FAXmaker for
Exchange is a native fax connector for Exchange Server, which means
that there is no need for a proprietary fax client: Faxes can be
sent and received from within the Microsoft Outlook client. This
eliminates the need for client software administration as well as
end-user training.
"FAXmaker
for Exchange 9 was designed from the ground up to minimize the administration
required. Thanks to its new interface, FAXmaker for Exchange 9 must
only be installed and configured once, without requiring further
maintenance," explained Nick Galea, GFI CEO. "This translates
into one headache less for all those network administrators who
are constantly stretched for time and are on a tight budget."
Includes
an inbuilt spam filter
Another hassle-reducing feature in FAXmaker for Exchange 9 is its
inbuilt spam filter, that can auto-delete junk faxes on the basis
of sender number.
Other new
features
FAXmaker for Exchange 9 also incorporates the following new features:
- Support for
Windows XP clients
- A new Microsoft
Management Console (MMC) based interface to monitor and configure
the server remotely
- Integrated
Brooktrout drivers
- Import and
export of direct inward dialling (DID) numbers via Excel
- Auto-generation
of DID numbers; and
- Easy mapping
of DID numbers to FAXmaker users.
Standard FAXmaker
for Exchange features include a multi-line fax server, inbound fax
routing, print to fax driver for Windows, support for server-based
rendering of Office documents, fax management features and more.
FAXmaker for Exchange is the most competitively priced fax server
on the market: A 25-user version sells for $750 and a 100-user FAXmaker
sells for $1895. For more product information, please see http://www.gfi.com/fex/.

Solutions Magazine for 1999 and by CTI Magazine for 1998, as well
