London, UK, 2 December 2002 - GFI, leading worldwide provider of network security and content security software, has launched GFI WebMonitor for ISA Server, a tool that facilitates network security by giving administrators an instant view of what is entering and exiting the network. GFI is offering this product as freeware.

GFI WebMonitor enables security administrators to monitor all current and recent HTTP and FTP connections that are active on Microsoft ISA Server in real time. This way, administrators can check what files users are downloading and which sites they are visiting, enabling them to ensure productive use of the Internet as well as monitor bandwidth usage.

Prevents abusive Internet use
Because GFI WebMonitor provides "snapshots" of all users' web access, those who access sites that are prohibited by corporate security policy can be caught red-handed. GFI WebMonitor therefore serves as a deterrent to abusive Internet use at the workplace, saving companies the expense of acquiring an Internet access control product and preventing the hassles involved with updating databases of undesirable URLs.

Easy to use
GFI WebMonitor is easy to install and use. Based on GFI's in-depth knowledge of ISA Server - Microsoft's enterprise firewall and web cache server - GFI WebMonitor offers native integration with ISA Server and simply hooks into it as a web filter. No further configuration is required.

Administrators can access it from anywhere in the network, and all administrators that are authenticated on ISA Server can use it.
