London, UK, 16 January 2002 - GFI, developer of the market-leading FAXmaker fax server range, has launched a new version of FAXmaker for Exchange, 9. Version 9 is the first fax server to require zero administration. It eliminates the need for an internal fax user database, greatly reducing administration and saving time and money.

A dream-come-true for administrators
FAXmaker for Exchange no longer requires an internal fax user database. Instead, it relies on Active Directory and allows fax-related settings to be applied to Windows users or groups directly.

FAXmaker for Exchange is a native fax connector for Exchange Server, which means that there is no need for a proprietary fax client: Faxes can be sent and received from within the Microsoft Outlook client. This eliminates the need for client software administration as well as end-user training.

• Support for Windows XP clients
• A new Microsoft Management Console (MMC) based interface to monitor and configure the server remotely
• Integrated Brooktrout drivers
• Import and export of direct inward dialling (DID) numbers via Excel
• Auto-generation of DID numbers; and
• Easy mapping of DID numbers to FAXmaker users.
