Hosted and hybrid acceptable use policy

GFI's Acceptable Use Policy is intended to help enhance the use of the Internet and of GFI's hosted service offerings by preventing unacceptable use. All users of GFI MAX MailProtection™, GFI MAX MailEdge™, GFI MAX MailArchive™, GFI MailEssentials Online™ and other hosted GFI services, including partners, customers, and other organizations and individuals that use GFI’s hosted or hybrid services (collectively, “GFI Hosted Service Users”), must comply with this policy. This policy shall be posted on GFI’s web site and may be modified from time to time by GFI. Continued use of GFI’s hosted and hybrid services shall constitute acceptance of this policy.

GFI Hosted Service Users shall use GFI’s services or resources in a manner which does not violate any applicable laws or regulations, and which does not interfere with, harm, or disrupt other users, services, data, or equipment.

GFI’s services may not be used under any circumstances to conduct or to facilitate any of the following practices:

  • distribution of unsolicited, bulk email or unsolicited commercial email (“spam”) of any kind;
  • intentional distribution of viruses, Trojan horses, worms, or other malware;
  • forging of IP address information or mail headers;
  • interfering with the use of GFI’s services by other customers, partners, or other users;
  • testing GFI’s services in an attempt to discover service vulnerabilities or means of evading detection of spam, viruses, or other threats
  • intentionally altering, tampering with or circumventing any aspect of GFI’s services;
  • attempting to circumvent GFI’s billing policies by deliberately setting up email accounts as aliases or otherwise deliberately obscuring the number of people using GFI’s services within a given domain or organization;
  • violating the acceptable use policies of GFI’s service providers, including its backbone providers

In the event a GFI User violates any of the foregoing items, GFI may immediately suspend its services and/or terminate its agreement to such user, and/or take other action as may be provided for in the GFI service agreement, without further liability or obligation to GFI Software.
