I have one:
I was called in to the local major airport, now this isn't unusual but it was Christmas day. I showed up and the security team had requested I get an old vt100 up and running as it was so important! They hadn't used these for some time, but demanded it running, I looked and there had been one flown in from head office. As I was about to unpack the new one and then remove the old, I noticed the plug was pulled out of the wall. I plugged it in and it connected and logged in normally...it cost 4k to have me come in, and be accompanied around by 2 security staff, all of us on 2 1/2 time.

I worked for an outfit that got upset when they learned their primary software provider was going to start charging a fee for tech support. Word processing, mailer, spreadsheet, and database software were all changed to a new vendor's apps. The part that made me bury my face in my palms was twofold: (1) almost all file conversion was left to the users, and (2) the new vendor already charged fees for tech support when the new apps were purchased. ?!?!? The rationale for this fiasco never was clear to me. They're still retyping data to access files written with the old software after more than ten years. (Slow head shaking with open mouth and googly eyes.)
