Director of Engineering - Andre Muscat is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with 10 years’ experience in security and software development. He started his career as an apprentice with GFI Software in 1997. After reading for an honours degree in IT, Andre was involved in various projects and in the year 2000 led the development of GFI’s very first release of GFI LANguard Security Event Log Monitor. In 2003, Andre was entrusted with the management of GFI’s network security division. His first high-profile project involved the complete overhaul of GFI LANguard™ amongst other products. Andre’s strong commitment towards continuous improvement led GFI’s foray into the IT industry’s network security field with a portfolio which now includes GFI EndPointSecurity™, GFI EventsManager™, GFI LANguard™, GFI Network Server Monitor™, GFI Backup™, as well as involvement in subparts of GFI WebMonitor™ and GFI MailArchiver™. Andre has acted as company spokesman on many occasions to discuss GFI’s products as well as provide expert opinions on a range of security issues such as endpoint security and the Payment Card Industry standard (PCI). He has also contributed articles on security topics to various publications in the UK, US and Germany. In 2006, Andre Muscat was appointed Director, Network Security Products. In 2007, he was appointed Director of Engineering.
