About Alex Cachia

Alex Cachia is a Director of Engineering at GFI Software. Joining GFI in 2001 as a Software Developer, Alex proceeded to lead the GFI MailEssentials development team, and eventually also the GFI MailSecurity team, through numerous iterations of the products, whilst graduating in Computing and Information Systems from the London Metropolitan University. In 2007, Alex took charge of the engineering teams for the Messaging and Content Security products at GFI, namely GFI FAXmaker, GFI MailArchiver, GFI MailEssentials, GFI MailSecurity and GFI WebMonitor. Alex specializes in the design and development of network communications and security products, with particular focus on email hygiene and Exchange related products. He has years of hands-on experience in design and development experience in C++ and C#; as well as project management of a portfolio spanning multiple products and development teams across multiple locations. Through his experience leading development teams Alex also gained expertise in software development processes and methodologies. Recently Alex has also been involved in technical due diligence exercises related to GFI Software’s M&A activities.
