Have you ever thought of engaging some penetration tests for your business? Educating your employees about several security risks, buying the best security software, constantly updating your software, and implementing some sort of company policy are not enough.

Although penetration and vulnerability testing could cost more than the ones stated above, it will protect your business and assets from online and offline attacks in the future. Think of it as an investment. You'll spend $1,000 now but you can save more than $50,000 later.

2012 will be a dangerous moment for social network as more and more spams, and hacking & phishing attacks will happen. This is because of the 2012 national election in the United States this November.

Social media giants Facebook and Twitter will experience some sort of website and server crashes as tons of data will be processed every second because of the said election (expect from August to November 2012). This is where and when people with malicious intent will exploit this incident.

Mobile malware will also rise but I expect more cool and useful apps to be released especially on the areas of business processing and gaming. Ohhh what about iPhone 5? It will be the most talked-about gadget this year.

Agreed Devon, we will also see much more of the political statements made by hacker groups such as Anonymous, with retribution attacks becoming the order of the day, such as the response to SOPA, ACTA and the MegaUpload closure.

After everything that came out with Stuxnet and Conficker last year, I expect businesses with government contracts around the world and other applications and interests that are considered volatile to be subject to the kinds of attacks that could potentially eliminate their productivity or equipment.
