I also agree with the comments about requiring social media to get something. While I realize that you THINK you are getting something for what you are giving, you are not.

anyone who requires a like in order for me to get something, is automatically UNLIKED as soon as I am done.

So you get a few minutes of being liked by an insignificant sysadmin from podunk.

How about considering the goodwill you might gain by harvesting my information the "old fashioned" way? Then you might gain some genuine respect from me that will lead me to evaluate your products when my boss asks me to solve a problem.

Enough time spent on this. Thanks.....

I get tired of offers that are conditional on me having a Facebook account. I wish respectable businesses such as GFI, to not make such conditional offers. It detracts from their credibility.

It's simply weird.

These admin tools can only be downloaded when you're logged in with Facebook.

We are proving that all these social media are destroying the Internet.
Even opening up holes into company firewalls/websites.
I'm not even thinking about the unwilling release of company info.

So GFI company isn't it worth to consider our ideas and/or possibilities that thoughts about the social networks have merit ?

I highly recommend the IxChariot QCheck for web and network administrators, and office managers. It's a handy tool. IxChariot can fix wireless performance problems and resolve streaming traffic rate.

I've been using it for several years now. It's better than the typical Ping system. Its interface looks great and very intuitive. It's also user-friendly, even non-tech managers can use it.

Hi there Will. McAfee Vision and Amanda Network Backup work perfect on my Windows 7 laptop. I've also tried them on my wife's PC (with Window Vista OS), and they're compatible. You just need to run them as Administrator - right click the exe file then press "Run as administrator".

I hope this works for you. Please keep me posted if you still have problems.

Thanks a lot for these tools. I've already downloaded and used some of your suggested free tools and it works great on my personal computer. What I like the most is the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector. Now I can easily locate and verify wifi hotspots at malls and coffee shops. I also love Notepad++. As a programmer and web developer, I found this tool very handy.

But I'm having a hard time downloading McAfee Vision and I can't seem to install Amanda Network Backup on my Windows Vista. Maybe some compatibility issues with Microsoft or something.
